Lenten and Holy Week Schedule

Lent 2018 began on Ash Wednesday, February 14th, and continues until Easter Sunday, April 1st, 2018. Below is a listing of special services and times for both Reformation and Bethany Lutheran Churches, from today, March 8th through Easter. The word “Alleluia” disappears from the worship service, as it means “Praise the Lord”

Wednesday, March 14th, 7:15 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church (soup supper begins at 6:00)

Wednesday, March 21st, 7:15 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church (soup supper begins at 6:00)

Palm Sunday, March 25th, 9:00 a.m. at Reformation Lutheran Church, special service with choir and brass ensemble.

Maundy Thursday, March 29th, 7:00 p.m. at Reformation, special service commemorating the evening Jesus washed the feet of His disciples and the Last Supper.

Good Friday, March 30th, 7:00 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church. special service commemorating the death of Christ on the Cross. Very solemn.

Easter Vigil, Saturday, March 31st, 7:30 p.m. at Reformation Lutheran Church, one of the most treasured and most important Christian tradition, the first official celebration of Easter. The service begins in the darkness left at the Good Friday service and ends in the beloved Light of the Risen Christ. If you have never attended this service, you are welcome to join us this year. It is an extremely moving service. As a side note, there is no regular Saturday evening worship service this day.

April 1st, 9:00 a.m. at Reformation Lutheran Church, the Easter Festival Worship Service. The word “Alleluia” returns, at long last, to be said as our Lord has Risen from the Dead, saving every sinner from a certain death and suffering. The choir will sing several anthems, the Reformation Brass Ensemble will play, and there will be much pomp and circumstance during the service. We end with the choir, and everyone who knows the song, singing the “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah. Everyone is welcome to join our congregation in celebrating Easter. The Easter Service at Bethany will be at 10:45 a.m.

Everyone is welcome to worship on Saturday evening at 4:00 pm and on Sunday mornings at 9:00 am.

Visitors:  What To Expect:

We are excited to worship God with you! Every week we gather to remember God’s amazing love for us and to hear and receive Jesus’ forgiveness and peace. During each worship service, we share together in the wonder of the Good News of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection through singing, the reading of scripture, and preaching. Each week we receive the sacrament of Holy Communion, and all people who are baptized and believe in Christ’s real presence are welcome at our Lord’s Table.

Parking is available in the rear of the church.  The church is completely handicapped accessible.  Greeters will direct you to the sanctuary and other facilities.  We look forward to your visit.
